Enjoy Kitsilano’s great outdoors by exploring our stunning parks. From small neighbourhood green spaces to large destination parks and feature gardens, Kitsilano offers more parks per neighbourhood than any other area in the city. Have a beach side picnic with the family, take the kids to a local playground or go for a run along the seawall; there’s so much to do in Kits!
Tatlow Park.
A small rock-lined stream meanders through Tatlow Park, crossed by small footbridges. Large trees tower over quiet seating areas, making this a quiet place to read a book or bring children to enjoy the playground.
This is one of the city’s oldest parks.
Volunteer Park.
Tucked between residences, Volunteer Park allows the serene views of English Bay to filter into the neighbourhood. Towering poplar and locust trees line a pathway that leads to the pebble beach below.
Margaret Pigott Park.
This quiet park is attractive for those who enjoy a fresh breeze off the ocean and views of Stanley Park and West Vancouver. A mature Catalpa tree makes a spectacular show in early summer.
This site was named for parkland advocate Margaret Pigott.
Kitsilano Beach Park.
This is one busy crazy beach especially in the summer time. Lots of people. Its nice to go for a walk. For all ages. Parking is a bit of a hit and miss. There are some along the street. There is also pay parking lot. Most of the people who come here are locals. there is the Boathouse restaurant beside the park as well, if you need food.
Vanier Park.
Poised at the edge of English Bay, Vanier Park boasts wonderful views of downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park. Tranquil ponds, open fields, and a wide pathway complement the outstanding waterfront experience. In addition there is a launching ramp for small craft and a nearby public marina. Civic buildings located on the main park include the Vancouver Museum and Planetarium and the City of Vancouver Archives.
A BMX bike park is located just south of Burrard Civic Marina. Vancouver’s first bike park was completed in August, 2010 and features dirt ramps, jumps and gaps.
Hasting Mills Park.
Hastings Mill Park’s grassy, open field allows views to the tall masts and inviting water of the harbour and ocean beyond. A children’s playground, seating areas, and the charming historic Hastings Mill Store Museum make this an interesting and lovely destination.
